In numerous communities across Missouri, abuse of prescription drugs has reached epidemic heights, leading to unprecedented rates of drug overdoses and related deaths. Due to this crisis, KPRS, Concord Fortress of Hope Cultural Center, ReDiscover, First Call, and Truman Medical Center Behavioral Health are holding an Opioid Forum, June 24, 2018, 6 pm to 8 pm at Concord Fortress of Hope Church.
Doors open at 5:30 pm.
Attendees will receive important information on support and treatment options, hear from those in recovery, learn the terminology and new trends. Speakers will discuss how to identify a substance use disorder and highlight the resources available, in addition to ways to engage with people struggling and family members. Informational resource tables will be available from the Greater Kansas City area.
